Daihatsu oil leak

Does anyone know why a 96 Charade (HC engine) would suddenly start leaking engine oil!No, no damage to sump.Leaks when switched off, probably several drops. Is coming from rear of engine. There is a small hole in the bell housing, looks to be coming out of there.I am inclined to think it's the rear seal. There is a big alloy solid (thick) cover that bolts up to the engine and auto trans so can't see much really.Thought it might be a faulty PCV valve and popped on from a 4 cyl Toyota to see if that might cure it but din't seem to make any difference. Also, are PCV's all basically the same! Also tried operating it without the pcv connected to see if it could be a pressure build up issue, didn't seem to help.Does this engine have an issue with leaks!Btw it's under 100k engine!Cheers.

Sounds like crank seal. Mileage doesn't really matter when the seal perishes from age.

check the o ring out of the distributor!also could just come out of the back of the rocker cover and run down!clean it up and see where it is actually coming from.

Yes, you may be right about the seal.Btw as a matter of curiosity, do you know if PCV valves are all much of a muchness apart from physical shape etc! Thanks.
