Hi looking at getting a 4wd drive any knowen problems with the fords ! looking at spending up to 15k woukd prefer some thing with lower milage andf a bit of grunt as ill be towing a boat as well

I was told on here the other day to stay away from explorers. Apparently they are quite shit and have a high tendency to break down.I think someone also mentioned they have 5x camchains which are very expensive to replace.

Have an 06 v8, no problems for 2 years have owned. thirsty though. mint otherwise

Don't buy an Explorer, best advice I can give you, and I'm a Ford Technician!
Escapes are fairly middle of hte road, the V6 ones have a bit of grunt but nothing that stands out against other cars in the class, and tbh they don't look as nice as others.
If staying with Ford, an SY Territory would be a good buy and are fairly cheap now that the SZ is out. Otherwise would be looking at other brands
