Fuel consumtion for Mazda Lantis

Im looking at buying one, does anyone know what they are like on petrol. Iv got a Mazda Familiar 1.5 litre and its really economical but the auto is going on it

The 2.0 is absolutely horrendous on fuel. The others are better but still not great. They are not a nice vehicle anyway. only thing going for them is you can sometimes get them really cheap.

Manual ones will use around 9L/100km, auto ones a bit more.

My folks had an auto one. very briefly. sold the thirsty heap and bought a Punto (for obvious reasons).

Fair enough too. Mazda Lantis had one of, if not the worst auto transmissions ever made.

I don't know what Mazda were thinking. Most of there other product of the time was actually very good (626, 323 etc). but the Lantis. yuck. Quite right about the transmission too.

BTW, OP to put the fuel consumption into context. A slightly newer, larger 8 Cylinder VW 4WD Passat will actually be fractionally more economical in my experience. (than the 2.0 Lantis)

Hey, a 5.7 litre V8 Commodore is cheaper to run than a 2.4 petrol Hiace.

Yes. and dried up white turds are less smelly than wet orange ones.
