Ok battery is fine , is trying to start but won't fire up . no spluttering or nothing . engine is a 2.7 4 cylinder petol. any ideas what it could be spark plugs maybe ! i 'm clearly not mechanically minded . What can i try before getting a mechanic to look at it !

Could be spark plugs, but if you are not mechanically minded, you should get the vehicle checked out by your mehanic, as there could be other faults. If you are an AA member, give them a call, so at least you'll know what's wrong with it.

ha ha .the person who's using it rang me at work to say it wouldn't start so i had a listen while she tried. first thing i asked was if there was fuel in it and ithas a half tank in there .might grab some spark plugs later when i go to investigate . someone else said it could be flooded and to put my foot to the floor and try start it .which to me contradicts itself but he maintained that's how to get air in there. cheers fellas

yea that will do it ,not so much with horseless carriages though.
