So before ripping into the gf's car to install a 2nd hand Sony unit from her brothers car I wanted to know if Mazdas of this era needed a cage or if they bolted straight in (Her brother had a Toyota so it bolted in and doesn't have cage).Anyone been there, done that!

It's a Mazda, it will be cage mount! Don't forget to use the "screw" that goes in the back of the stereo and the rubber bung (all in the bag of goodies you get when the stereo is now). They are required on Mazda installs to support the back of the stereo.

Dammit!I only owned one Mazda and that was 15 years ago.Will have to set about aquiring a cage!
