what year is it scoobeey! mine 01, done 890,000 on the speedo, but has a fair chunk wound off it. needless to say its done the mill plus 40. and still runs nice, like a clock.

scoobeey, Aug 12, 5:36am
cool awesome too hear! old one was a 92 .NEW one lol a 2002

scoobeey, Aug 12, 5:40am
New one done 240k and mate said ahh too many LOL .hell the van is only just run in!

flashgordon_nz, Aug 12, 6:41am
02. 150k timing belt, 7500 service interval.good engines, look after the cooling system. dont hesitate to spend money each timing belt change to clean out/replace radiator, seals, tensioner, thermostat, coolant, etc, etc. will go well, except for the odd alternator every 200,000 LOL. Use shell rimula oil, low ash, (or i have changed to TOTAL rubia XT), genuine oil filters, and just drive her. can have issues with ball joints, and top arms with tight turning, but my first lot got done at over 600,00. hell, first clutch was done at 750000.

Thats pretty impressive really, they arent sterile to drive for nothing. Seriously though, great kms from good workhorses

bellky, Aug 12, 8:43pm
Awesome.

robotnik, Aug 12, 9:26pm
Is this van a diesel!

00quattro00, Aug 12, 9:41pm
if you look after any car like that it will last

thejazzpianoma, Aug 12, 9:58pm
Agreed, but you don't realise these things when you don't drive anything else.

Even Toyota have admitted their vans are no longer competitive and have begun the shutdown of operations. We (and the Australian's) are apparently deluded enough to warrant the supply of the third world death trap edition for the time being. Don't expect a replacement though.

The Toyota Hiace for most other markets is now a Fiat with a Toyota badge on the front and eventually will be a re-badged Peugeot.

Enjoy it while it lasts Hiace drivers, safety regulations or lack of demand will shortly kill the Hiace here too.

Grinch Out.
