van does not automatically slide shut anymore - after lending it out! it is quite a heavy door when you have to shut it manually. what are the options re a fix-it job. can a mechanic fix it or must it go to the nissan crowd.who, of course, is mighty expensive.

Get it to Nissan and get whomever loaned it to pay for repairs. Nissan may be expensive, but since they should know the car inside and out, the actual labour (hours) may be less.

If it is a Presage there is an on/off button for the electric door under the steering column (left side I think). Just check that it has not been switched off.
