Battery terminal corosion

Wots the cause of this ! Clean them and within a couple days there all that greenish crap all over them.

electrolysis is the cause, reaction off the lead post to the connector, clean with baking soda ( not baking powder) in hot water and smear grease over them to stop water and air ( the reaction requires water - even moist air is enough)

reason is likely the seal between battery and therminal broke, due to someone whacking on the clamp with a hammer or other tool. . next possibile reason it seperated on its own when you drive rattely roads.
The fix is to fit grease patches for therminals fitted under clamps stopping the acid rise on broken seal.

Son car so will go with the wackin bit, am trying hard to educate him on all sorts but he has time issues in to him is easier to hit with hamer than to find rite spanner in fit properly

The corrosion is usually a sign that the battery is on it's last legs or your charging system is overcharging causing the battery to fume.

Clean every thing with boiling water and grease up the terminals, job done,,,,,

Don't know if still available but .'felt' type washes (one red, one black or blue) the fitted over the battery terminal before putting on the clamps.Worked well for me.
