Most of the time the door wont unlock be it with remote or key, on the odd occasion it will with the remote otherwise I need to turn key and lift handle at the same time to get in and then reopen door to engage the central locking. Is this a common problem!Anyone got any ideas as to why!

Faulty actuator. Wind down the window. If the doors locked, can you still open/unlock it from the inside handle!

Yep still opens from inside fine.When trying to unlock with the remote the knob on the door tries to come up then drops back down again, on the odd occasion it will come up and car unlock.

It will be a faulty motor/actuator. The inside handle has a mechanical linkage so since it still opens fine from the inside we can rule out the lock/latch etc being the problem :)
Does it sound a bit noisier compared to the other doors motor wise! Usually strip teeth off the gears or the motor inside them.

Remove the plastic knob, and try again.
This is pressure sensitive, and if installed incorrectly or
Dislodged slighty, it can cause locking issues.
