Mazda (Axela) Experts - Your Opinions Please

mss2006, Oct 29, 6:37pm
Morning all.

I am considering buying a 2007 Axela 2000cc sedan Facelift model (imported 2011 at 60000km) and would like some feedback regarding this model of car.

I am a complete novice when buying a car so any advise regarding quality, reliability and most importantly - fuel economy would be much appreciated plus any other thoughts you might have!

Other specs are -

ABS brakes
Air conditioning
Alloy rims
Central locking
2 Airbags
Power steering
4 Wheel Disks
Factory CD / Stereo
AA ODO Certified

KM's - 95 000 (Is that good!)

Asking price $11 000.00 (Is that value for money!)

Condition visually is excellent inside and out.

One previous NZ owner - Drover 35000km in one year!

Thank you for your help!

I'm not an expert, but the question is pretty generic.

I looked at others on trademe for a price comparison and that seems within the normal range for the age and kilometres. Under 100Ks is good.

Are there any service records!

Tell him there are others available and ask if he can sharpen his pencil a bit on the price, and close the deal with him filling the tank.

A pre purchase inspection is worthwhile, or at least take a knowledgeable friend to check it out.

Good luck!

Funny how peopl think like that. True there others of that model for sale but there are other buyers too.

$11,000 would be cheap if it's in nice condition. Would be worth getting trans serviced if not done recently.

My wife has one and it goes real good. $11k sounds like a good price, I paid $14k for an 2006 with 105k last year. Economy is really good on these, drove Christchurch to Dunedin on 22.5 litres which is6.9 l/100k or 41mpg. Also went up to Chch (375k's) plus did 300kms around the city before filling up which also was 7.3l/100km or 39mpg.

Mrs Stevo runs an 04 Axela 2.3lt. Its now up to 90,000km and has had one engine mount replaced since we bought it 5 years ago at 30,000km. Pretty reliable I would say.
