yes, that sinking feeling when things stop, you peer down the oil filler and don't see any rocker movement when winding over - Crap!

On the plus side, when you replaced them with metal gears, it made a cool mini-supercharger whining noise.

After about two or three months,retighten the inlet manifold bolts,as the gasket will have settled,this will recrush the gasket and you wont have the problem again.

The beer fridge Is seriousif cant mow the lawns or go shopping at least you can have a cool beer .Need to get it fixedprontoin case visitors come around& havent got any beer .

Well you have beer, it's just not frosty cold, with little rivulets of dew running down the neck, like those beats of sweat you see tantalisingly trickling down the bronzed cleavage of hot blonde russian tennis players.

It could be the thermosat, turn the control up and down and check whether the compressor starts and stops. When fridges get older, the insulation at the back starts to break down and get damp, causing the internal drain to block up and freeze, which in turn causes moisture inside the fridge to freeze. Short term fix is to empty the fridge, leave outside in the sun for a day with the door open to try and dry out everything. Failing that, a new fridge is on the cards.

thanks a lot for your help. i think we need a new fridge by the sounds but will check thermostat like you say first
