i had a problem with my alarm and the alarm people told me to reset the alarm by disconecting the battery , which we did and now the car is idling very low and keeps cutting out , have checked the batterie connection again !

After disconnecting the battery I imagine the car will have to be run for a while for the engine management system to learn all its settings again.
