Brand new! Purchased from retailer, stored in garage, put into car aprox 3 months later. Battery flat ! Retailer says, shelf life of 2-3 months. I wonder! Many thanks.

That could be right - any car battery should be kept charged - they deteriorate rapidly when flat.

usually 5 years when you got one that says 36month warranty on it. ripco ones with 6 month warranty last 1 year befor they are rooted.

also9 be warned new calcium are not suitable for all new make car as they need a higher imput end charge , they also need a special electronic calcium charger to be recharged.

we try to cycle our battery stockevery month, two months and we start seeing a higher rate of warranty returns. Batteries these days have a short shelf life compaired to batteries made 10 years back. At three months old it should be still covered under warranty

I doubt you would get any battery that would sit on a shelf for 5 years and still be good.

#1- Any imported battery 10 years, any NZ battery 2/3 years.

any battery is going to be flat after a few months, there's no way you would have a shelf life that long

When I got a new battery for my CBX it was dry and came with a battery acid pack. like tip the acid in yourself. Just saying thats all.
