Having owned both a Golf and the Grande Punto, the Grande Punto is realistically very similar in size. Performance from the Grande Punto is also going to be more than adequate compared to the other cars in question.
Its all about the vehicle being suitable for the OP's needs, which appear to be all about maximum fuel efficiency and reliability, there is no mention at all of them needing a two tonne vehicle.

Everybody knows that a punto is similar to a polo jazz.A golf is a size up from those.
