Hi Peeps.
Have been trying to hook up a sub to the stereo.
Took power from positive terminal on battery direct to sub amp
Connected earth lead to the wall of car boot.
Turned on the key
Nothing. No power.
Fuse on the amp is fine.
So any suggestions
Is itthat I require a remote cable to turn amp power on !
thanks

the remote wire comes from the headunit- if you have an aftermarket unit, it will probably need to be hooked up to the spare blue one

Thanks. but shouldn't the sub amp be showing power i.e. a light on even without remote hooked up !

Nope, 'cause it needs the +12v from the remote terminal to tell it to turn on.

Oh and don't get clever and bridge the +12v in main power to the +12v in remote, yes it will turn on the amp but if you leave it and walk away whistling at your success, you will soon have a flat battery, even if you aren't operating the stereo :)

Thanks dude! I'll be sure not to, the battery is a bit jaded as it is. Cheers for your help

Once you've sorted the remote wire, double check you have a solid ground if you have any further problems.
