They supposedly caught the thiefs but looks like all the vans themselves are probably long gone on the boats to iran.These people will probably get a slap on the wrist a short jail term and be back on the street ripping more vans off in the coming years.
Well that is reason enough to get a Fiat Multipla coach or other alternative people mover. I wonder if they also steal Hilux pickups as these are widely used in places like Afghanistan by Taleban guerillas and such like.

I think its mostly tradie type vans that are getting pinched.Most tradies would not be seen dead in a multipuke im willing to bet.
The sandmonkeys arent totally stupid they stick with toyota's.

The taleban only buy Hiluxes with factory fitted machine gun mounts, and they are not available in NZ

anyone tried looking for 3l 2.8 crank shaft lately,getting like hens teeth because of this, stolen or not they are being shipped out at a great rate!
