Hi, I have two queries. Any help much appreciated

1. Does anybody know if Toyota Sienta 2006 are Auto or CVT transmission?

2. Vehicle has slight surging when travelling at around 40k per hour - could this be either - carburettor (petrol) - transmission or computer?

Vehicle Jap import with 66,000 on the clock

gracey--ALL Toyota sienta's have CVT transmission.
As a side note they have proven to be really reliable.
A slight surging if its a fresh import and I would clean out the throttle body and the AFM. --fairly quick and easy job.

Thanks Kazbanz, that is reassuring

Kazbanz are you about?

Today my friends enquired about getting the throttle body and the AFM cleaned at a Toyota workshop, and the mechanic told them that he could do it and he would also do a (I guess) computer relearn on a machine? Do you know whether this is a good idea or could it lead to more problems if not successful?

Gracey-it is DEFINITELY a great idea and I agree with mechanics thinking.
Warn your friend though of one side effect. For a short while.--maybe a couple of drives the car will feel "wrong" After that it will be a heap better than before.
