Wait till you see the upcoming Hilux-based "Fortuner" then ! You will see the Hilux as Elle MacPherson, compared to the Fortuner that is Susan Boyle.

$20,000 more than the Ranger XLT though, which by all accounts is the much better ute. I bet Toyota diehards will still buy them just for the name though.
I will drive one soon and see for myself though.

You could buy a Jeep for every day of the week and have change for a decent bike . Just an idea .

until the resale bugs come home to roost, then all you can get for the change is a bike.

Yeah ! Bloody ridiculous when can get a brand new high performance V8 car for same money with all the fruit. Yeah yeah V8 no good if need to go off road - 40k max make more sense.

From Waikato Toyota we were looking at possibly getting 2 new Landcruisers off them. Have bought numerous vehicles off them in the past and always found them to be keen to do big discounts. This time the salesman (same one we have dealt with in the past), said sorry we are not allowed to do any discounts at all on new stock unless there is a promotion going like fieldays specials. They also said that they won't be competing with Ford at all when the new Hilux is on sale, the price is the price.

month or so ago I was in local Toyota dealer getting price on a roll out old stock new Hilux and that was discounted to hell to clear it out. dealer also said they would be able to do deal on brand new model aswell but obviously not as heavily discounted. Either way I went Ranger lol and Ive been a loyal hilux man for years and had atleast 4 of them. Ranger beats it hands down on power and tow capacity. The Ford dealer wasn't going to discount the new model down much as they claim they wanted to look after the existing owners and not devalue their year or so old trucks by dragging the price down on new with flow on effect into second hand prices.
