BMW radio/sparky advice

Somebody ripped the original aerial off the rear fender of my Z3. Replacing with an original is expensive; can anyone tell me if a generic stub aerial etc can do the job?

I bought a flexible rubber one about 200mm long from Repco and it worked well.

Put electric in fixes the aerial rippers.

Just put 'Z3 antenna' into eBay. This one here is $7 inc. shipping.

That is assuming they didn't break the amplifier/base underneath the antenna, that sits inside the fender.
