fan only works on the 2 highest speeds now, would it be the switch or the resistor? also where would the resistor be located ? TIA

I'd say it's the resistor and it is normally screwed to or near the fan box assembly under the dash.

Generally below or begin the glove box, normally just a rectangular plug with a number of wires going into it is all you can see.
