I have a machine with 3 cyl motor, electric start , purchased 2001, sometimes machine sits idle , battery in sometimes 2 years,, yet battery starts motor every time, without charging . Label has fallen off battery, how do I identify battery so I can buy one from SAME manufacturer ?

I purchased a yellow glassmat battery in 2013 for summer motorcycling. Next summer the one just gone, battery wouldn't turn bike motor but made noises. I put battery on smart charger and lights all green, but battery had no CCA or power, battery supplier said to couple battery to another 12 vlt and clip the charger to this one, charge and both batteries will come up to full charge. Green light but the yellow battery still could only get starter motor to click click . I requested a replacent battery, ? But no Spending 139$ on a one season battery means battery no good, made bad. Original battery lasted 9 years without detaching leads , and this yellow glass mat is third since 2010.

so if it was a charging issue why couldn't they charge it- at least to check it out . should have been covered by warranty?

Contact Harbour City Batteries in Auckland. I bought a battery off them for my JetSki and sometimes it will sit idle for months but it starts every time. I think the battery is known as a gel battery rather than a lead acid battery. It has a yellow case.
