Bought a Toyota Ist for the wife yesterday, so today going to get oil/fiter, air filter etc to give it a decent service. Would like to flush cooling system and do coolant as well, so can I purchase any decent coolant from Supercheap, or do these 2NZ-FE engines have to have specific Toyota coolant? Has Pink stuff at moment but looks dirty. Will give good flush between different coolants.Just don't want to harm the engine obviously, cheers.

Pink fluid is Toyota Super Long Life Coolant which is good for 10 years or 160,000 kilometers.
I would stick to a long life coolant for changing, particularly say Nulon which specifically claims compatibility with Toyota SLLC.
Sweet thanks for that, have a Toyota dealer in town so might look at the genuine Toyota coolant depending if its a similar cost. Interesting reading online about different coolants. times have changed.
