A guy had a new cylinder head fitted to this vehicle,2 months have gone and now the radiator is filling with oil.On approaching the garage that fitted the head. he was directed to the note on his original invoice. The note reads "change engine oil and coolant ,600km after vehicle uplifted or warranty null and void".I have never fitted a new head,is this a normal requirement for aftermarket replacement heads.

Total rubbish. The CGA applies. Changing oil and coolant wont prevent the problem described here. Either the head is faulty or the work wasn't done properly. Either way the garage has to make good.

Flush the cooling system and keep an eye on it, it may just be residual oil stuck in water jackets when cylinder head was removed and block cleaned up. Otherwise, something / someone will be stuffed.

When fitting a new head, they (manufacturers) do say not to use antifreeze for the first 500 to 1000kms. Oil and filter should always be changed when replacing the head anyway.
