So what was the actual price you were quoted from them?

gunhand, Aug 7, 7:48pm
Yes your Bluebird is a $100,000 to $1000000 6 7 8 900hp highly strung piece of exotica designed to propel it to speeds well above 300kph and get there in a very short time frame all while being revved to within an inch of it's life.
And if Ryco were shite they would be out of business.
And by all means put the best of the best on and in it as it will do no harm at all.
I put a ryco on my Hayabusa and it never had a melt down, and it's kinda high performance. Ive used ryco on many cars over the years, no issues at all.
However if I did own one the above mentioned exotic type cars I prob would just drop at the dealer and have no real idea what they do or put in and just pay the $5000 oil change bill.

Been my experience too. Toyota Camry 98 Z386 ~$14 Ryco. VW Bora 04 Z553 ~$16. Better yet wait for their 25% - 50% off promotions. Wellington Toyota and VW Gazley dealers were $25 or $40 a piece.

Update - Bought the Nissan filter (It's made in Thailand!) for $28.30 incl GST - shows how much discount they can give - and Nulon 5W30 Synthetic oil on special at Supercheap.

rayonline_tm, Aug 18, 2:55pm
SCA has the Castrol Edge 5w30 under $50.

comsolve, Aug 18, 3:11pm
Geez, shows how much profit there is.

I got Nulon at $38.99 because that was the special at the time.

comsolve, Aug 18, 3:12pm
I wasn't after "cheap" just couldn't understand how Nissan could justify $40+

As for mass-shops like SCA and Repco, they only sell Ryco and their own brands. Not a lot of options in the provinces.

Thats correct, my car (mopar) 0W 40 full syn, oil change at 10k or even sooner if the cars computer says because of heavy use (the car works it out).
