I still reckon 4) is a Vanguard - looks like it could be the station wagon or panel van version!

#4 has strakes down the bonnet sides only Vauxhall had that feature. actually they were a Vauxhall trade mark. That model the LIP/LBP went from around 1948 to 1951. Drive a number of them years ago, some were 4 cylinder Wyvern but mostly the 6 cylinder Velox .

Nah. Litchfield has runningboards The screen shape (looks flat on top) is more like a Humber. But I think it's too small to be a Humber.

Is that the Penrose rd over bridge?

#2 looks like late 1930s Morris 8. The grill looks right for an M8. I had a 1934 M8 and it had wire wheels. That one looks like solid steel wheels introduced later in the 30's.

1 Definitely Ford Consul Mark 1! 2 Definitely NOT an Austin, Ford, Hillman, Morris, Rover, Standard, Vauxhall or Wolseley late 1930s - 1940s 8 - 10hp car (searched my Classic and Sports Car A-Zs of Cars of 1930s and 1945-1970!) It has the appearance of your basic British type and seems to have front-hinged front doors - unusual at that time. Will search further afield. 3 Definitely Austin A40 Devon! 4 Definitely Vauxhall LIX Wyvern or LIP Velox! Now, what about the cars further back along the road and in the other lanes?

#2. Well spotted dublo. The mystery deepens. Racking the brain to think of a front hinged front door car of maybe the 1940s. Agree that eliminates those on your list.
