Buying a car battery charger, help please

5minwonder, Aug 24, 2:19pm
Is there anything I need to know regarding buying one of these? Just want to be able to charge a car battery and dont want to spend a fortune.

Have had a look and some seem to have different voltages? or something? Appreciate if I can be pointed in right direction

Thanks for a novice

I've got one of those. Seems to work well.
Cheaper than similar ones, someone may know why.

They were good for boiling a battery dry if you forget to turn it off .

Ok thats actually a really good point, I seem to recall back in the day having to make sure that you turned them off when battery fully charged.

Do they all come with some sort of auto shut off these days? or. ?

Had one of them for 40 odd years and worked fine. It would be going still if I hadn't run it over.

+1. Have 2 of these for my cars, wouldn’t be without them.

Try your local cash converters store. They often have battery chargers. The Projecta or Arlec ones will do the job.
