copper for the massive up-grade of the power grid, not the car motors, solar arrays, hydro, lines from generators to point of sale, all need billions tons copper.

Or else you can make your own electricity (by PV). That's real choice! and pretty much impossible to do that for fossil fuels, except the used cooking oil diesel option.

Read 2024 but Idout it . The lithium alone will get more expensive to mine as the easy stuff gets mined & then they turn to sea floor mining which will create huge problems for enviroment & cause more damage than any oil spill . The ICE car makers arent going to lie down & die . more robots manufacture in Africa less cost .

Interesting to see the money being invested in electrification in the coming years. $50 billion plus by Ford and GM alone.
China controls all the lithium supply & battery manufacture , they can charge what ever they want for the EVs & supply to others once ICE cars become outlawed . So I wouldnt expect them to be cheaper . Govts will tax them as much as ICe vehicles too soon

I rest my case, its the supply of the special raw materials in EV, expect a war with china soon and most of the supply chain will shut down, same thing happened with japan, which forced the attack on pearl harbour, so nothing has changed and you would be a fool to pin your greenie dreams on EV not to talk about prices climbing for EV supply because of shortages in materials. If anything this stupid attack on ICE is forcing up the motoring costs across the board when the industry ready needs settled times without the doom and gloom of end of the world bullshit from greenies which is making musk rich. Ford and GM will just loose more money and I don't think the US government will bale out the car industry again, its just all happening too quickly and really ICE just need to run its course naturally without pressure from idiots.

Are you saying that the China situation is like Japan and USA in WW2? Japan had little resources and USA was holding out on them, so Japan attacked. Since China has some Lithium, USA will attack China?
