after starting the vehicle and beginning to drive off there is a whirring clunk noise (like a small electric motor )have not been able to figure out what it is, only happens after putting into gear (auto) and moving off . Radio ,Aerial is manual .

i hope not as its only got 72.000 kl on it ,definitely sounds like a electric motor .or flap opening or closing ,but only happens when initially moving off

It could well be the ABS pump unit. On many cars its part of the operating strategy that the module pulses the pump motor briefly after an ignition cycle and its seen the vehicle moving at 20kph approx. It's done to stop the pump seizing. See a Toyota agent if in doubt.
