wow. It needs some work.

kingfisher21, Oct 8, 3:49am
My god, who is the butcher that did those flares?

alowishes, Oct 8, 8:13am
$400,000 to buy the car plus $200,000 to restore it?
That would give an excess of $100,000 profit upon reselling.

I'd swap my left nut for one in any condition.
I'm anything but a one eyed Ford fanboy but wow. !

tgray, Oct 8, 6:51pm
Personally, I would rather a brand new McLaren 720s and 100k in change.

richardmayes, Oct 8, 7:24pm
A coon with four on the floor and no driver aids, that would be able to accelerate side by side with a Lamborghini or Ferrari of the same era, I can understand why people who know what they are, are such big fans.

In this day and age surely there are much cheaper ways of putting 350hp in a 70s coon? Have to wonder what will happen to these cars when the people who are old enough to know (or care) what they are, are gone.

I suppose they said the same thing about old Bugatti's in the day but they still seem to be very collectable?

budgel, Oct 8, 9:48pm
A Falcon GTHO was never, and never will be in the same league as a Bugatti.
I too wondered about what happens to the price when that cultural memory dies out.

richardmayes, Oct 9, 2:52am
Heh, I often thought about that driving my AU forte wagon around.

"This must be just like what driving a Bugatti is like. "

sr2, Oct 9, 3:11am
I have to admit my preference would obviously be a Bugatti but personal preference is not the point I'm making.

There was a time when old Bugatti's were cheap because no one wanted them.

redhead18, Oct 9, 7:16am
Incidentally only ever been 2 genuine ones in godzone i have heard of.
anyone know of any?

gunhand, Oct 9, 8:12am
Aaaah, the GT hach O. 500 made 600 for sale.

electromic, Oct 9, 9:24am
No engine so it will never be a matching numbers car?

differentthings, Oct 9, 11:40am
In the video it says the big block has been removed, but it does come with spare parts which include a top loader gearbox and a V8 motor. So it might be the original number block.

muzz67, Oct 9, 8:33pm
Talked to a driver of one at the Garston (Queenstown) pub who claimed his was original. Had a custom plate which did show as correct online.

bjmh, Oct 9, 9:23pm
When its restored it will be as original as granddads axe. its only had 3 handles and 4 heads.

bill-robinson, Oct 9, 10:00pm
and won bathurst 5 times

lookoutas, Oct 9, 10:24pm
"I don't care"

likit, Oct 9, 11:43pm
Don’t care, if I had the money I would take a GTHO any day over a Bugatti.

joanie32, Oct 10, 6:50pm
I wouldn’t restore it.
Just get it back on the road.
Having the roughest road legal GTHO in the world would be pretty cool.

bumfacingdown, Oct 13, 12:04am
What a wonderful mixture of cars, great stuff thanks

differentthings, Oct 13, 12:55am
yes by the looks of things he did. Gotta love the sound. I'm glad they didn't put music over the top of it.
