I don't think it has stopped. As the article says, apart from the USA Toyota continues to sell diesels. If the patent is about diesel engines, it looks more like a cold running benefit.

Toyota are a whole generation behind in diesel engines. They are launching new engines that are only euro5 when the competition has moved on to euro6.

The worlds first true passenger car diesel was mercedes benz and peugeot soon after.

yea its the knotheads in california and the gungster thugs in zurich. its all total bs the last ice age was not cause d by vw diesel like the knot-heads seem to claim.
