I had come to the conclusion that I overestimated the compression I could feel. Thanks Mechnificent for dropping by and confirming it.
Time to take the head off.

Somone posted above 180 out . compression test. and then leakdown test to see where its going top or bottom if it blows in the sump you can remove the whole engine not just the head.

For me its easier to start by removing the head. Hopefully it wont be anything lower down, but I'll be able to see.

wont go mate,towed to w/shop
took a pic with head off(again)
yup, each piston with 1 exh. valve head sitting on top
