So my brother has bought a car of a mechanic who said he is a registered dealer, who at the time of the purchase took all my brothers details down, copied his license etc and said he would do the change of ownership himself. This was now about two months ago, but he hasnt received any of the papers that LTNZ usually send out confirming the change of ownership.
Whats the easiest/cheapest way for him to check on the status of the legal ownership of the car! Cheers!

im pretty sure ringing LTNZ is the best way , no doubt theyll tell you who the registered owner is , maybe even explain to them the situtation.

Registered owner is not legal title.

It's $9.41 if he does it himself, when he goes in to do it they will tell him if it is already done
