Legnum 97 v6, alternator belt, how many hours labour does this take please, sister wants to know.

the alternator belt is on the drivers side of the motor, and also how many long does it take to do the left hand side tie rod to replace please!

alternator belt please

About half an hour for the belt, plus incidentals and parts.
I would budget for around 1 and a half hours labour total, although some workshops may charge in full hours, so could be 2 hours.

sister tried to get wheel alignment and they told her no use getting that done till you get the alternator belt and tie rod done first.

In saying that though, someone experienced with that particular car could possibly do it in 1 hour, so pays to shop around.
Perhaps go with Mitsi specialist or franchise dealer with service department.

I can perhaps understand them saying that about the tie rod.but the alternator belt! Lol. Not sure where that fits in to the equation!
But yes, generally if you are paying someone to do the work for you, get both jobs done at once.

You could always do the belt yourself and save your sister a few bucks;)

less than 30 mins to change. The power steering/alternator belt needs to be removed first to remove the alternator belt. But it's very easy to do.

The wof people did the steering belt just early march for the warrant of fitness they should have let her know if she wanted the alternator belt done at the same time instead of doing it this way.

the power steering/air con belt is a WOF fail, the alternator belt is not. But yes they probably should have told her it needed doing also as it would have been only the cost of the belt extra.
