we have a 1991 mazda 929 its 3 litre v6 automatic and its rearwheel drive we want to sell it and its in show room condition with 60,000km's from factory its only had 1 owner since new and we dont know what price to start it at i say 10,000 mum thinks 8000 my mate thinks 12,000 and my girlfriends dad thinks 15,000 what one would be more realistic!

You will be lucky to get $3000.

A, its not a car in demand
B, its old
C, its an underpowered 3L V6

grangies, May 12, 10:43am
None.

blayke-m, May 12, 10:47am
it has alot of power it can get up to 240km on open road and its in high demand for drifters and they are really rare in this condition and it has no problems at all its pretty much brand new still

debulebule, May 12, 10:50am
Early ninties, automatic v6. Those are your problems. :) Seriously though, have a look around on here. The only ones that fetch a decent price is when someone is silly enough to pay for it. A drifter could get your 10,000 dollar 929 or a ready to go silvia from the same era. What would you choose!

jsbike, May 12, 10:51am
No its not in demand for drifters.

franc123, May 12, 10:53am
Look at what Sentias are selling for on average and add a grand or two due to its condition.Thats what you will get, I can tell you now it ain't going to be in the $8-15K range.A buyer wanting a largish Jap car (and there isn't that many of them) can buy something at least 10-12 years newer for that money.

blayke-m, May 12, 10:55am
i would choose the 929 and all it would need to be the perfect drift car is a manual box in it

blayke-m, May 12, 10:56am
its nothing like a sentia

jsbike, May 12, 10:56am
so keep it. and yes a 929 and senita are the same, just like a lexus es300 and a toyota windom.

franc123, May 12, 10:57am
Sorry but it is, the Sentia is the JDM name for the 929.Put Sentia in the used car search box if you don't believe me.

blayke-m, May 12, 10:58am
a mazda sentia is actually nothing like the 929 the car that is the same as the 929 is the mazda luce and the mazda luce cosmo

franc123, May 12, 11:01am
You are getting some "model era's" mixed up here,The Cosmo used to be the equivalent, but not by the '90's it wasn't!

freedomaira320, May 12, 11:02am
Sentia, 929, same car.

foxdonut, May 12, 11:02am
Denial is the first stage of grief.

Its worth four to five grand if you're lucky.

More as a trade in on a new car at a dealership. It ain't a drift car.

Stick a 13b in it and sell it as an RX4.

blayke-m, May 12, 11:07am
we got it valued about a year ago and they said it was worth bout 9 or 10 grand

foxdonut, May 12, 11:07am
Who's "they"!

blayke-m, May 12, 11:08am
the valuer people said it was worth about 9 or 10 thousand as is

foxdonut, May 12, 11:12am
Well now we're telling you its worth less than 9-10k.

Are you planning on selling it on TM! Set a high reserve on a low starting auction and see what you get. If it doesn't sell, relist until either you get what want, it doesn't cost to relist, there's nothing to lose.

"Valuations" on the MB's tend to be low, but I reckon we're all right to say you won't get 10 grand for it.

freedomaira320, May 12, 11:12am
If it's in exceptional condition someone might stretch to about 5k. Nice enough cars. I remember when they first came out they were quite a radical design, now they seem so boring.

debulebule, May 12, 11:23am
It's a wonder why the OP even bothered if they already knew the answer!

franc123, May 12, 11:24am
Gone.

blayke-m, May 12, 11:53am
its always a good idea to get other people's opinion's

bigracket, May 12, 1:16pm
Good attitude mate. (I mean that seriously)Try your luck you may prove them wrong! but Idon't think so. Good luck anyhow.

snoopy221, May 12, 1:40pm
Personally given what it is and the values as in post 1 why not start an auction buy now 15k start 8k reserve 10k.
