But it's more convenient for the 'parent' because they don't have to walk all the way around the front of back of the car!

front OR back.

Stupid sausage fingers.

when you're waiting to turn at an intersection and you see a gap but theres a car coming so you wait but then that car turns indicating just as they turn, i mean they can see you're waiting, if they make their intentions by indicating sooner i could have turned myself

- people who when making a left turn into a side street or driveway, pull left, then swing WAY out to the right, getting in everyones way. Hint; If my 6m long behemoth can turn into a driveway from the curb, your Nissan Micra can too!

- people who drive through roundabouts at pace, without even turning their head to look for other cars

- people who dont indicate or indicate AFTER they have started turning

- people who drive little econo-shitboxes at 70-80 km on the State Highways and Expressways

- people who park an inch from your bumper when you are trying to reverse into a parallel park, and then have a blank look on their face ( I thought that indicators, reverse lights and an empty car park may have been a bit of a giveaway, but no)

- and trying to do hill-starts in a powerful manual car, with a foot operated parking brake (need 3 feet) when some idiot has stopped right behind you.

bikeman2, Apr 11, 1:12am
people on open roads approaching an intersection to turn right and slowing down in the middle of the lane to take the corner when there is a perfectly fine median strip and turning area provided for them

horse floats, motorhomes etc that feel that just because they are blowing their minds doing 80ks in a 100k zone everyone else should be grateful they get to stare at the arse end of their POS for km's

people that sit between 80 or 90 then when going through a rural town where limit drops to 70 they carry on at 80 or 90. twats.

and indecisive people are the WORST. if your gonna do something stupid then do it and get it over with, don't shag around making up your mind trying to figure out if you were supposed to go left 3 kms ago or if the cafe you wanted was that one behind you or the one just up the road. just go and get outta the way!

ok rant over haha

Don't go editing my posts. They are retards.

People with bloody accessory lighting or fog/spot lights on that seem to shine right in ya eyes. Its like looking into full beams all the time and very distracting.
The new Hilux and Nevara type utes are a pain as well because those who insist on having 4 sets of lights on are also right at eye level. One or two in a night drive is okay but when theres streams of traffic all the same its headache material.I used to night drive for a job and it was painfull.
There seems to be differing opinions on whats allowed and whats not.

Are you implying putting 165 chinese tyres on a heavy van is a more acceptable practice just cause it's legal!

Distorting it to say "all" vehicles was never my point, you should read again.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 11, 3:31am
His position has always been "If it's legal it's safe, if it's illegal it's unsafe". It saves any thinking.

People who think my following distance on the motorway is fair game to slide on in, giving me no following distance. Great for nose to tails in the morning peak traffic time.

lady71, Apr 11, 2:31pm
people who drive above the speed limit around town and then as you reach the open road slow down to 70-80.it's like gee whizz where all the buldings go now what do I do!

stevexc, Apr 11, 3:37pm
What about the ones that fit HID headlights to a car that wasn't meant to have them! Those things are blinding!

skiff1, Apr 11, 5:53pm
My pet hate is people who go on and on like they have no irritating habits and think that the habbits of others are a deliberate and considered attempt to piss them off. Closely followed by people who fail to comprehend that driving is not a modified form of combat and their dick will not fall of if they are at their destination two mi utes later. Face it everyone makes mistakes, be ready for them and you will be ok. Chill

johnf_456, Apr 12, 5:07am
Don't need to, I just find it odd to complain about "tyre sizes" in that sense. But to put a twist on it, chinese tyres would be better than worn out ones if they can't afford descent rubber.

outbidyou2, Apr 12, 5:29am
Hatchbacks dont count

outbidyou2, Apr 12, 5:36am
As you were John.

skin1235, Apr 12, 5:43am
so would any of you stop to assist a driver on the side of the road, even if the nationally recognised display was evident

how many of you even know what that means, or what to look for

and do you expect others to do the same for you should such an occasion arise

pollymay, Apr 12, 5:44am
165's on something heavy, you know what those things are rated for! Would you like me to show you my tyre from some A+ NZ roadworks, this is a tyre that failed suddenly on a recently "finished" piece of road then when it did blowout it bailed up into the fender and tore itself to absolute shreads as I started to slow down for the blowout.

Think that but on a heavy van. Tyres can and WILL fail if you are outside the specifications. In my case it was a freak accident but I've seen it from exceeding load ratings or ill fitment.

Besides that is my exact point of legality does not determine safe/unsafe. If you want people doing stupid stuff then you can help them install borderline chinese newspaper discount brakes that don't work so they can happily get another WOF and lecture everyone else on how they're the ones that are the problem.

Opinions don't count. If there's no fog the fog lights shouldn't be on.

johnf_456, Apr 12, 6:20am
Wasn't disagreeing with you at all, of course using a tyres beyond its expectant load rating etc will kill it premature. What sort of vans are you talking about! One that have small tyres from the factory or ones that people have put the wrong tyres on to save some beans.

knobbit, Apr 12, 6:25am
New Zealanders have lost the meaning of what it is to be a kiwi.friendly kind and considerate! Use to apply to our driving once upon a time. Such a shame our country has turn into a bunch of arrogant halfwits-most of which seem to have gotten their license from the back of a weetbix box!

pollymay, Apr 12, 7:16am
I was talking about the ones that do it with no comprehension of how dangerous it can be on their vehicle then tell me off for doing over the limit and being dangerous. That was the original and still is the context. Where they've got it into their head they are god's gift to motoring with their blown shocks they wiped the oil off to get a WOF is anyone's guess.

I don't really care except they will talk themselves to the grave that it was fine to do that and tell others how to drive cause they never got a ticket in 50 years of driving. My grandmother is one of these people, she can't drive to save herself, does 70 everywhere and refuses to use 5th gear because "4 gears is enough". It's not logical.
