LOL, in the old days it was 'out' of a Weetbix box - along with the plastic toy.

Doing over over the speed limit is dangerous especially around town.

johnf_456, Apr 12, 5:33pm
So when kids are walking to school its safe now to drive above the speed limit is it! Or that potential car pulling out of a driveway.

pollymay, Apr 12, 8:06pm
Actually if you want to be pedantic if it's not a pedestrian crossing they shouldn't be on the road. We need a force of say officers to round up these people who are a danger to themselves. A great way to control them would probably be fines, and we could create campaigns about it. Then once this becomes successful we can start issuing fines for just being near the curb, you wouldn't even need to step off it anymore, this is a preventative measure and could be installed every long weekend when kids are too excited and most at risk of dangerous road crossing behaviour.

With the revenue gathered we can put out more campaigns, eventually people will get the message to just not walk on roads or go outside. Always blow on the pie, safer communities together.

Ever heard of drive to the conditions, less risk is generally associated with higher speed limits. Or is there an exception for you!

Its not just people on the road there is all sorts of hazards around town. Sure many of us probably think that road could allow us to go safer but at the end of the day its about saving lives. Keep it for the track then go for gold.

Actually I'll be quite blunt, I'm going from A to B in the best fashion I can. If someone in their realms of wisdom wants to try get in the way of my commodore it takes about 3 fences, 4 houses, 7 cars and train before I will come to a stop.

I never talked about speeding through a group of kids or a parade. You are trying to fit circumstance to a situation I wouldn't get into in the first place but perhaps like to think I would. I do drive to conditions, that doesn't rule out exceeding posted limits in areas. That area is probably not a schoolyard, you're a bit off the mark.

People who park on blind corners

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 12, 11:17pm
How does anally obeying the speed limit stop you from crashing into some moron who steps or drives out right in front of you!

johnf_456, Apr 12, 11:40pm
It doesn't but reduces the risk of death / injury

johnf_456, Apr 12, 11:41pm
You never said what area and situation you just mentioned people moaning you for speeding.

pollymay, Apr 12, 11:49pm
Right, and they instantly jump to the same argument of schools etc. Forgive me I must be blind but in the middle of nowhere, what school!

Then I look at their hiace full of tools on chinese tyres and just sigh.

pieman33h, Apr 13, 4:18am
you know what winds me up! muppets that dont read road signs., You know the people who try and pass you AFTER the passing lane has actually ended.or the muppets on the motorway who will overtake you on the left as the lane is ending - then forcing their way into traffic!

oh - also - auckland traffic. Does no one work a full day in auckland! why is there a traffic jam on the motorway at 3 pm during school holidays!
Where are all these people going! Because if there is a traffic jam at 10 am and again at 3 pm - who the hell is working a full day! No wonder the country is in recession if no body is at work for the usual 8 hr day!

00basil00, Apr 13, 4:25am
Retards that dont know how to indicate when going through a roundabout, following this idiot today who would indicate right then left when going straight and then another that would indicate right and carry on straight

canajanz1, Apr 13, 4:13pm
<LOL> I thought it was only this town that had revoked the right to parallel park!
Seriously though, trying to reverse into a parking space, parallel or otherwise, elicits the most amazing responses.Horns, fingers, f bombs, blank looks, angry reversing into the person behind them <LOL>, and on one memorable occassion an old gentleman felt the need to cross the road to compliment me on being able to park!

canajanz1, Apr 13, 4:28pm
People who cant do a hill start without rolling back or hauling on the handbrake. I wouldnt mind the handbrake stunt so much if they could then get co-ordinated. Far too many rev up , ride the clutch, then pop off the handbrake spraying grit as they leap forward into traffic.

nightboss, Apr 13, 5:33pm
If you can't co-ordinate your feet enough for a hillstart, buy an automatic.

canajanz1, Apr 13, 7:58pm
Well yabut I didnt want to be that blunt.:-)

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 8:01pm
As does sitting in a vehicle that doesn't move.

bellky, Apr 13, 8:04pm
The faster you go; the bigger the mess.

johnf_456, Apr 13, 8:06pm
Not even worth the time make further comments, simple faster driving more risk.

pollymay, Apr 13, 8:09pm
I love this saying. Does this mean they are more dead, or are they the same dead as if it was a small mess!

nightboss, Apr 13, 8:15pm
Have you got a few of those vehicles Tony! You can get them collected by pick-a-part, but that will create more lawn to mow.

bellky, Apr 13, 8:16pm
I havn't had many accidents. But one thing I know for sure, slower speed(s) equals less damage, EOS. It's a no brainer. Simple physics.

gadgetman, May 31, 5:35am
Some idiots who insist on driving with dim parking lights on. This is especially dangerous before dark and coming from the direction of sunstrike!

pge, May 31, 3:51pm
And, thereby creates the mentality quoted earlier, by houstonctrl and rainbow.umbrell

"People who go 80 in a 100km zone - fine, you don't like driving fast, then you reach a 80 zone, and slow down to 60. why!"

Or, when reaching the 60K limit, carry on at 80K .
