person i know lost key, he pulled steering column apart he still could not extract lock mechinisum , i had a quick look but even i'm not sure ! advise please.TA
If the same key fits doors remove a door lock and take to a decent locksmith. If your lucky may have a # on it which makes the job even easier and get a new key cut.

Dropping the barrels out is easy. I just did the link to save some typing Re-keys for a locksmith are a fairly easy job. Repairs not so easy on the likes of the Holden barrels because of the cap but mostly just fiddly to avoid damage. Still have a few bits here for those

Oh man !quickly dropped into see if if info would help,frigg, belly thing still won't move!looks like it's in the lock position. i have this feeling someone has been here b4 me.
