Old technology and very thirsty. hideously so in the petrol version. Diesel while cheaper to run is still not very economical for what it is. There are other things I don't like but I will leave it at that.

Jesus man! Just get an ML. They come in a 7x seater, drive nice, tow well & when it does $hit it's-self, you'll be able to sell it for parts & make a fortune. PS. Your friends & neighbours will think you paid way more for it than you actually did.

Yes the hyundia terracan is great for towing, It has a bit more wieght to it, like your 4x4. good machine. I tow a 1600kg boat , and sometimes a 4x4 on a trailer with my old safari, that is a seven seater, probable bit old vehicle for you, done close to 300,000km and dosn't miss a beat, not real fast, but keeps on keeping on. thats the best thing.
