What could cause this! Alternator! We called the aa and they said to get the battery charged because its a calcium one. We did this but it still seems to be losing power. It seems like it is struggling to turn over. What do you reckon! Nissan cefiro 1998

Probably alternator, if the diode packs inside them fail they will whine, alternators have a shortish life on those 90's era Nissans, they don't necessarily bring the battery light on when they pack it in either. I'd also ditch the calcium battery too, they aren't really suitable for older cars as they can't provide the charging voltage needed to work properly.
