Should be OK as long as there is evidence of good service, particularly of the auto trans, check how old the timing belt is too. Still get it put through a good prepurchase check, the kms are getting up for a Mitsi.

Good old kiwi new Galant, she should be all good. Cheap and cheerful. Happy motoring.

A Mitsubishi will do just as many kilometres as any other car on the road given adequate servicing. I know a fella with two Diamante VRX, the first a 2002 model has done 900,000km and the second a 2005 model has done 650,000km hassle free motoring.

Thats the whole problem, they are far more sensitive to a lack of servicing, and thats why you need to be careful when buying higher km ones, or even low km ones if they've been run cold all the time.Mind you similar comments also apply to Subaru engines and transmissions. As a general observation your chances of getting a reasonably trouble free run for the next couple of years start to diminish rapidly once 250k has gone by.How important this is to the OP who knows, if they only want six months out of it who cares.

A 220km NZ New Galant has MUCH more life in it than that! I can't see any reason why it can't go double that and more!

we have a 2.0L NZ new galant. 260k without problems. has had regular oil changes and a cambelt change.
