If you sell a car to someone in another a part of nz (you're in Auckland and they are in Christchurch), what's the deal if the car needs repair during its warranty period? Obviously I'm asking as I'm looking at a car in Auckland.

By "warranty" period Im guessing you mean the period covered by the CGA etc. The answer will vary from dealer to dealer so I can only vouch for one Auckland dealer. Typically we will "phone a friend" (Our Autosure rep) and ask for a recommended repairer in the city concerned.These are reputable repairers. But if its something simple like warped disks then we ask the customer to take it to their mechanic and have the mechanic call us. If by warranty you actually mean "mechanical breakdown insurance"--the one you buy then in all honesty it doesn't really matter. Take it to a reputable repairer and tell them you have a "warranty" from there its dealt with
