WHETHER IT WAS A TRADE-IN OR NOT. They don't have to accept the trade-in back anyway.

Will the refund include the value of my trade-in?

You should also receive, as part of the refund, an amount equal to the value you were given for the traded-in vehicle. The business can return the trade-in vehicle instead ??

So Kazbanz, they don't even HAVE to take the 'trade-in' back. Not only this but if she does take the car back as what was mentioned. she can get compensated for the difference between the value of the vehicle with a stuffed engine and what is was worth.

A car that has a stuffed engine $500? The cars value with a going engine $5000. So that's a $4500 difference. give or take.

Niss-have a read through the actual legislation involved.
Sorry but this has been discussed at length in the past. Consumer "advice" and the legislation don't agree on several points of law.

If she had just done a straight reversal of the two transactions the only one losing would be the dealer. She would just revert back to before any deals were made and still have her original vehicle. But she chose to continue with the deal and wanted the new vehicle repaired as she was probably entitled to if her word is true as she says.
