yes all cars have a weak point - something has to give and hey do give outstanding service these days. some cars have weak spot that makes it worse than others, but very few. Mazda is probably better than average reliability wise so find a good one, check it, and enjoy. I've had great runs out of things that some would say are terrible but they were looked after and were fine.

Mate--that link was from AUSTRALIA. It was a mazda 2 not a demio. I haven't had one single 07-2011 demio with the issue you are talking about. Which is why I asked where in Japan the cars you have personally seen have come from to see if theres a link between useage location and rust. another thought is what colors are the rusty ones? is it generic or is it some colors worse than others?
