I took my car in (2008 corolla) to get airbag done, my son borrowed the car one night and reported back the dash lights did not come on for a while. I don't normally drive the car in the dark so it was quite some time before I noticed this, when I took the car back to the dealer they said it would be a faulty switch. … I don't think so but didn't have time to debate the fact. has anyone else had a problem like this?

Did you try turning the brightness up?

Yes have seen several faulty switches. You probably don't have park lights either

Very common on these Corolla's. The part is about $150 by memory plus most places would charge an hour to fit
