and all is good except the electric windows dont work. should i deduct the cost of getting them fixed before i pay the full amount!

aragorn2003, Sep 12, 8:09am
you should have had the car checked out before clicking buy now maybe!

grangies, Sep 12, 8:11am
Was it mentioned in the auction about the windows!

jason18, Sep 12, 8:13am
Depends if the seller agreed to that.

gabba12, Sep 12, 8:14am
No.when i told owner about it. he said they were going.

gabba12, Sep 12, 8:18am
I had the windows fixed today cost = $230.I will be paying for car tomorrow.
I will mention it to him.Do i have any rights for a claim! or should i just pay in full!

grangies, Sep 12, 8:18am
Going !

Going to what!

grangies, Sep 12, 8:19am
What sort of car is it, and how much did it cost to buy!

jasongroves, Sep 12, 8:20am
So you got the car before paying for it! (pretty trusting of seller).
Then got it repaired before giving the seller the chance to rectify the problem himself! Which he wasn't obligated to do anyway).
You should just pay.

bob1120, Sep 12, 8:25am
The problem is that most people expect a new car for used car price.

philltauranga, Sep 12, 8:39am
Were all of the windows not working! I hope you didnt pay $230 for a fuse.

neo_psy, Sep 12, 8:39am
Nice Troll. Well done

gabba12, Sep 12, 8:43am
All windows not working. They had to rewire the control unit.

gabba12, Sep 12, 8:44am
Going = working. its a van. $6,000 which is about what its worth.

jasongroves, Sep 12, 8:48am
Link to auction!
Did you test drive it!
Check it over!
Independent test/check!

richynuts, Sep 12, 8:53am
If you clicked 'buy now' before viewing car/van your a fool and will have to suffer anyproblems and costyourself, don't blame the seller

carmedic, Sep 12, 9:03am
Just saying.

gabba12, Sep 12, 9:08am
I am not blaming the seller. the question is would some reimbursment on the cost be fair! Using the buy now i do have some rights under the consumer guarantees act. The vehicle was said to be in very good condition, with new warrant etc. i would assume that the windows would work too.

andrea_w, Sep 12, 9:11am
The 'A' word is your biggest problem here. assume NOTHING when purchasing a car.
The seller isn't obliged to do anything, so don't be surprised if they want nothing to do with the window repair bill.

All windows not working. They had to rewire the control unit.

Damn sounds like a fuse-IMHO.
I'd really love to see the invoice and diagnosis-and the **rewiring! of the **control unit**
[Considering electric windows are NOT computerised. LOL they just work via SIMPLE switches.and how do ya **rewire** a switch that is ON or OFF!

un_known, Sep 12, 10:20am
did you buy it from a dealer or a private sale!

philltauranga, Sep 12, 10:22am
HHHMMM by the sounds of it the Flux Capacitor overloaded the defibulatizor requireing a rewire of the control unit.

snoopy221, Sep 12, 10:36am
Either that or the spangulator valve.
(or 230 pingas of **yeah rights***)

zoltec45, Sep 13, 5:45am
You are literally too stupid to insult.

jcwholesale, Sep 13, 6:03am
You know, if he gave you the vehicle before you paid for it, then you want to deduct money off it as you fixed something, he could just ask for the vehicle back and you would have to give it back to him.
