haha that's awesome. That 121 is surprisingly quick!

un_known, Jan 21, 11:36pm
holy shit yeh that 121 is quick thats a bp engine you put in that right!

morrisman1, Jan 21, 11:40pm
B6ZE, the same one that the first MX5 had, but this came out of an 89 Jap model Astina

trdbzr, Jan 21, 11:41pm
That 121 is pretty quick. Amazing how a VX with intake, exhaust and supercharger mods is only a fraction of a second faster than a v6 accord and gets demolished by a Type R. Funny that, considering Scotty claims to have beaten many Type Rs.

morrisman1, Jan 21, 11:42pm
I was pretty impressed with that Type R, it seems to have a huge rev band to work with. In the mazda the gears are pretty short (Id love a first gear which took me to 80km/h!)

timmo1, Jan 21, 11:45pm
yep anyone who underestimates a Type-R probably hasn't seen one at the track.

chris_051, Jan 22, 12:01am
Were talikng about a Commodore with tall gearing and an engine unchanged from when it went on the local market in the 1990s to a 'high tech' 5spd auto 2004 onwards accord. Not bad for the Holden.

You should have made this public, I would have filmed my GSXR1000, if you pansys on 4 wheels want to see what real speed is.

ninja_man, Jan 22, 12:55am
my car won!haha awesome video man.

morrisman1, Jan 22, 1:06am
Your congratulatory chocolate fish is in the mail

ninja_man, Jan 22, 1:07am
Yuss

vtecnet, Jan 22, 2:51am
Mmm that 121 looks like it would be a threat to my CRX :)

richardmayes, Jan 22, 3:43am
If only Scotty could find a way of harnessing all the hot air that comes out of his mouth and channelling it into the 'Super Six'. all that boost would be good for at least another 50 horsepower. THEN we'd all see the Accord Thai put in its place.

jmma, Jan 22, 4:58am
The 121 looked pretty quick, but how accurate is the speedo with the changes you made!

ninja_man, Jan 22, 9:35pm
*waits for scotty's excuses*

woody1946, Jan 22, 9:46pm
Something not quite right there. How come the petrol gauge drops 1/4 of a tank in that short time ! 'G'force's !

smac, Jan 22, 9:54pm
SO out of curiosity, 'cause I can't be arsed doing the research, what are the actual 0-100 times of the cars listed in that vid!

fiatracer, Jan 22, 10:11pm
been a while since I've watched TM motors, my own fault for missing out on htis challenge. Will there be another!

sw20, Jan 22, 10:25pm
I'll get a new memory card for my camera, it seems to eat them and I'll upload a couple of vids next week for both my cars.

morrisman1, Jan 22, 10:34pm
I watched the rest of my video, with four runs in it (this was the quickest one) and the fuel gauge goes down when accelerating and then once slowed back down it shoots up again. Makes sense because the fuel level float is right at the front of the tank

patiki1, Jan 23, 2:19am
Type R was going down a hill.

morrisman1, Jan 23, 3:30am
The Type-R 0-100 time is about inline with what the auto magazines have reported it should do.

phillip.weston, Jan 23, 3:32am
0-100km/h for the Galant is in the 7 sec bracket - it did a 15.0 sec 1/4 mile run which doesn't seem all that quick. It sounds far quicker than it actually is haha. 'felt' faster than my Galant VR-4 which has run a 13.68 1/4 mile time.

morrisman1, Jan 23, 3:46am
I think if you got a better launch Phil your car would fare a bit better against the HMS Commodore. In the video it looks like a casual take off with no intention of setting records!

johnf_456, Jan 23, 3:48am
The whale holden around 7.5 ish
Mazda 121 : 6.5 ish
Galant: 8 ish
Honda Accord: 7.5
Honda Type R: 7 ish

They are rough guess going by the youtube counter, I can't be bothered doing it my precisely.
