205Nm from a wee 20 year old 1600cc engine isn't too bad at all.
Especially when most of it is available from close to idle.
Its not gonna set the world on fire, but still a HUGE improvement over standard.

205 Nm from what engine! sheesh my 2.5 liter triumph only puts out 175nm!

Pretty sure the sedans had the alloy heads and the estates had the cast iron heads.

4g63t! Cant believe 13bt not been suggested.

mrfxit, Apr 9, 7:03pm
Yep that would be it.
As far as NZ was concerned at least.

Hey guys, for an old fart not into Jap motors, l have no idea what you are talking about half the time!It would help me no end if you at least said what make now and again. Please don't assume that all avid readers know what you are talking about.

If I said that my car was powered by B30 and not a B20 that powered the first of that body shape, how many under the age of 30 would have a clue what I was on about!

We are talking about an old car (Hunter) from an era that I do understand, but you are talking about modern engines that I do not understand, so be kind to the older folk and help educate them - please.

LMAO . yea, I know the feeling
.
Or the difference between an LIP /Eip & an Lix Vauxhall

Not that the younger generation would "want" to know!

4A engines are Toyota, used in a number of vehicles:)
4G63 variants are Mitsubishi, turbo versions most common in early VR4 Galants and all Evos.
12a, 13b etc etc are of course the good old wankel;)

Why not be different and go with an Alfa V6.
Cheap enough to buy, plenty of horses and dosn't weigh much. Just make sure there is enough room to access the cambelts when in.

Oh and beautiful sound!

Down the thread, someone mentions doing the same with Subaru floorpan and running-gear.

How does a 4WD 'Rachel' sound!

socram, Apr 10, 4:06am
Thanks for that.We seem to live in an age of acronyms, textspeak and numbers and codes that mean absolutely nothing to an outsider, just the anoraks, who only seem to know their own specialised area.

This MB isn't too bad a a rule, but if you poke your nose into the computer thread for example, you are often swamped by geek speak.

My first car was a '69 Hunter. there were no lowered cars around at the time (1980) so we put blocks on the rear leaf suspention and rased it up to clear the 13x7 'massive' wheels !Lol. those were the days.Second car was a 1974 with a chrysler 245 hemi six with a three speed g/box, evil handling but fun in a straight line. Can't remember what the brakes were like, prob terrible !

Hunters/Rootes group stuff has a history of Ford 302w with Tiger/Alpine conversions & similar in the fastback Rapiers. Dont forget the running gear & brakes. Commodore Struts &8" Ford diff with True Trac should see you right.
