Noticed this last night in girlfriends altezza. But she noticed the radio wasnt turning off with the key. Until she pushed the key to turn backwards to remove. Turns out the key remove thing is buggered. And she can remove the key while running. So maybe yours is doing the same! You can remove the key without turning it all the way off!
