Was in my local garage the other day getting a WoF and a guy had bought his car back for a recheck. on the 30th day!He explained that it was because they had been waiting for parts but it didnt matter he had to pay out another $50 and had it rechecked. Be terrible if it was failed again because the tester saw something the first tester didnt see even though it had only done a very few km.

I think you're missing my point. If you got told you had 28 days to fix x amount of stuff on your machine. You go back 22 days later and have fixed x amount of stuff, they then turn around and say "oh you need to fix y now on top on y now" so that gives you 6 days. The fact that I need to fix the brakes isn't the issue, but the fact that my time frame to do so had been shat on.
