Thought the prerequiste for decent torque would give the game
away.

Use to like the wrx's but sister traded the mrs in on a wrx sti
and cannot see the point of them now, better off just buying
a V8 with a more flexible "chassis" than a wrx. They drink
fuel like most V8's.

Cheers

Along those lines works, 2013 - 2014 mustang looks to
be the best in this thread with its 31 mpg on open road,
420hp 528Nm of torque.

It's not my gluteus maximus that are big.

I can thoroughly recommend the first two. Cheaper to run than those horrible 3.6 Pentastar Motors.
The Jeep is a wee bit more expensive to run than the 300C. Probably because its a Brick and Heavy. But I get around 11.2 on my trips to the Hawkes Bay and Back.

Cheers, 11.2 pretty good, is that the fuel saving tech where
it runs on 4 cylinders when not giving it the jandal ?

edangus, Oct 13, 12:17pm
Yep. that's the one.
Once its up to speed its very frugal.
Although you can make it drink a tank easily. if you desire.
Cruise Control on it works well with the Tech to.

The most economical performance vehicle is one that remains parked.

Latest Corvette gets 29mph on the highway and that's with a 6200cc engine.

Up until about 5 years ago, I would have simply said that .
"Economical + Performance" vehicle, is a contradiction of terms.

Not so sure now, but it's taken a LOT of expensive tech to achieve the latest results.
